Daniel Schrubb joined the U.S. Army in 1984, serving 4 years as a rifleman, machine gunner, and team leader with deployments in Egypt (9th Infantry Division) and South Korea (2nd Infantry Division), followed by 4 years in the Army Reserve as a light construction engineer with the 420th Engineer Brigade. He then joined the Marine Corps in 1994, training as a combat photographer specializing in videography. His duty stations included MCAS El Toro, MCAS Miramar, CA, and for advanced training at Syracuse University’s Military Motion Media Studies Program. He deployed to, and lead a team during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, with the 1st Marine Division. Upon returning, he served in various recruiting and operational roles, including Recruiting Station Albuquerque, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA at Marine Corps Systems Command. In 2012-2013, he deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, as a Force Protection Fielding Officer. He retired in late 2014 after 28 years of military service.

He and his wife Priscilla moved to Texas Hill Country, opening a food retail business in February 2015 and an online store in 2017. In 2023, after eight successful years of growth, they sold the majority ownership of their business. He is also an alumni of the Leader 360º Course and its first retired Veteran. Daniel has a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Innovation, with a Minor in Business Administration from Texas State University, and actively volunteers in the community where he lives. He served over two years on the Zoning Board of Adjustments and three years on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
